Held within the 33rd International Dance Festival TANEC PRAHA 2021
For the first time ever Prague will welcome an icon of contemporary Greek choreography Dimitris Papaioannou in a highly visual physical work, an ode as well as a farewell to our ancestors, bringing us with ease and sensitivity back to basic human values.
In this highly visual physical work, Dimitris Papaioannou, an icon of contemporary Greek choreography, asks questions about the nature of humanity and the direction of our civilization. In the foreground of the production Transverse Orientation is the light, beauty, power of the human body and the archetype of the bull – the legendary Minotaur. It’s an ode as well as a farewell to our ancestors. In its way, it breaks down surviving patterns while also creating new ones, liberating itself from a violent, antiquated power. With ease and sensitivity, it brings us back to basic human values. Prague will welcome this exceptional artist for the first time ever.
